Whether just to fly around or to carry out a complex mission with your friends, DCS World offers an excellent simulator, provided you invest a minimum of time and money into it.
Is DCS Russian?
DCS World’s default map is set in the Caucasus region that encompasses much of Georgia – the location of the Russo-Georgian war in 2008, as well as a portion of Crimea, the site of a Russian Annexation in 2014, and a small portion of Russia’s southern border.
Are DCS planes free?
DCS World launched in 2008 and is a free-to-play flight simulation platform with two flyable planes: the American TF-51 Mustang and Russian Su-25T. Additional modules are sold at roughly the same price as a stand-alone AAA game, and feature aircraft from World War II to the present day — even helicopters.
How much RAM does DCS use?
Minimum system requirements (LOW graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 10; DirectX11; CPU: Intel Core i3 at 2.8 GHz or AMD FX; RAM: 8 GB (16 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 120 GB; Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD R9 280X or better; requires internet activation.
How expensive is DCS?
I was delighted to see DCS World offering a very realistic one but was surprised to see it priced at $80. It seems like a lot of people on this sub have the nonstandard (read: not free) aircraft.
