Guidelines for application as a journalist
You qualify for a journalist account on newsbasis if:
- You have an email address that clearly associates you with a known and reputable news organization
-
Or
- You can clearly demonstrate that you have been published by a known, reputable news agency by linking to a bylined article, bio page, or scan of a printed article
-
Or
- You report news and/or analysis on a blog that has as its primary purpose the delivery of news content to an audience (as opposed to the promotion of products and/or consulting services) and that audience is not negligible
You do not qualify for a journalist account on NewsBasis if:
- Your blog is primarily a vehicle for promoting your core business which does not relate directly to journalism (i.e. corporate blogs, promotional blogs, link farms, SEO bait etc.)
-
Or
- You have negligible readership
-
Or
- Your material is deemed to be obscene, hateful or otherwise detrimental to the overall newsbasis community
Acceptance to NewsBasis as a journalist does not guarantee that you can forever use the service. NewsBasis reserves the right to remove access to journalists who we later determine to not qualify under our guidelines and/or behave in such a way that is determined to be detrimental to the newsbasis community at the sole discretion of newsbasis.
