Guidelines for Requests:
- Requests should ideally state clearly and descriptively what information is being sought, from whom and for what purpose. Newsbasis uses the information contained in the request to automatically match the request with members who may be able to provide the most value, so the more descriptive the request the better the results.
- Requests may take many forms, including:
- Open ended invitations for ideas or angles for a journalist to consider. These requests don't expire and can be good for story ideas.
- Questions soliciting expertise for background research on a story or just general knowledge.
- Specific requests for sources for specific stories on deadline.
- Requests should not
- be commercial solicitations,
- be solicitations for employment,
- contain offensive language, or
- contain personal attacks
NewsBasis reserves the right to delete requests that do not meet these guidelines without notice, although we will generally provide feedback to users.
These guidelines are a work in progress, and are subject to change at any time.
