Why is it called Santa Pod?
Santa Pod was named after Santa Ana Drags, a drag strip in California, USA, and the local village of Podington. Since then the name Santa Pod has become synonymous with the sport of drag racing in Europe.
What time does Santa Pod start?
The venue normally opens at 8.00am with track runs starting at 9:30am – 5pm, weather and track conditions dependant.

There are showers and toilets on site (small charge for showers). At larger events, a family camping area is available for people with young children, allocated on a first come first served basis. Only available if you have a full weekend ticket.

General information for people intending to camp at Santa Pod Raceway. Camping is included in multi-day ticket prices – no extra fee. Camping is available at any event that sells a weekend, 2 day or 4 day ticket. Only available if you have a full weekend ticket.
Does Santa Pod run in the rain?
A: No. Unfortunately, if it rains, racing will not be able to take place on the track. However, if the rain stops we will try our best to dry the track and continue with the racing.
Where are the showers at Santa Pod?

Showers are available in the Paddock toilet block. At selected major events there are additional showers next to the Bankside Shop. Stewards and security are on site at all times. The cost of grandstand seats varies depending on the event, viewing from the spectator banking is included with entry tickets.
Who started Santa Pod?
Member inducted 2016. The history of Santa Pod Raceway began when John Bennett announced plans to establish a permanent drag strip on Podington airfield, near Wellingborough at the British Hot Rod Association’s 1965 annual meeting.
