De Floriade Expo 2022 is aanjager voor de ontwikkeling naar de groene en gezonde stad Almere. Dat gebeurt door de pleinen in het centrum groener te maken, het station Almere Centrum en omgeving versneld te verduurzamen en de snelweg A6 op een energieneutrale manier te verbreden.

Waar Floriade?

De komende Floriade 2022 zal worden gehouden in Almere. De laatste was de Floriade 2012 in Venlo. Floriade 2012 was tevens de 19e Wereldtuinbouwtentoonstelling. Eerdere Floriades werden gehouden in Rotterdam (1960), Amsterdam (1972 en 1982), Zoetermeer (1992) en Haarlemmermeer (2002).
