Siesta Key is a lot more congested with people, traffic, and although a great beach it’s quite shallow for a long distance. If partying is the goal then I would pick Siesta Key but we were a middle aged couple that really liked Anna Maria. Anna Maria is more laid back and better suited to us.

We decided to visit Anna Maria Beach and since it was during Spring Break, parking was troublesome. We avoided the main parking lot and drove up north of the island hoping to find parking and a quieter spot on the beach. Today was our lucky day!

Another thing our host mentioned to us is that there is a free trolley that will take you up and down the island so you can visit other beaches on that island. We decided to visit Anna Maria Beach and since it was during Spring Break, parking was troublesome.
